Today I whipped out 6+ Christmas card designs for some clients and just used some pictures of my sisters and I as the sample images. These are two of my favorites designs. They're fairly simple, but I like simple. I'd love to hear your thoughts on them...negative or positive! :)
Check out lydia.com sometime. They have some awesome video tutorials on all sorts of photography and Adobe software. Lydia.com has so many more video learning resources than just those two topics, but those are the ones I've been soaking up this past weekend. I've been focusing mostly on Lightroom. They walk you through all sorts of keyboard shortcuts, how tos, and tips of the trade.
I've never really done photo books before, but I'd like to incorporate those into my session packages. I've been comparing different sites and keeping in mind the style I'm going for.
I'm totally stoked that I got a few more shoots lined up today! Love it when that happens!
These are the five words I decided on a few weeks ago for my business:
- Stimulating
- Distinct
- Tasteful
- Fresh
- Invigorating
Tomorrow I'll be tackling writing out 5 different systems list emails that I'll be able to use as templates for emailing clients. Major time saver in the long run.
December is yet a half an hour away!!! Yahoo!!!!
mmmmm, I like you five words. Makes me want to see more of your work :) Nice work on the card designs, I personally like the bottom two better, mainly because I like simple too... but I still like the top one, and think you should keep it as well as the other ones!
ReplyDeleteLove the cards! How come you would put a photo on the front and back? Or is it a folded card? I actually like the top on better- but they are both great! I'd love to hear more about how lightroom is supeperior to photoshop!
ReplyDeleteCelina... I LOVE lightroom! If you've only been working in photoshop you're missing out!! ;) heha, but really it's wayyy better for your workflow, simpler and faster to use. I still use photoshop here and there for the few things that LR can't do, but mostly LR :D
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys! The cards are actually flat, but printed on both sides. I like the idea cause its different than normal and uses the space well. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, 'just a girl' hit the nail on the head! I still use Photoshop for some things, like designing cards and such, but for editing...I'd choose Lightroom over it any day! Sure, I can't use some of my favorite Photoshop actions anymore, but even then, I've found that I like the results of Lightroom better. Aaaand I get the work done so much faster!!
